The Lighthouse WIN Against Salvation Army 18-3
The Lighthouse Club had there first Match for 2001 with new players in the Team, A easy yet great match.

The Lighthouse were ready with a number a practice sessions placed before hand, the team consisted of Lian and Davis who were new to the team, with current players, Luke and Myles Bennett, Marc Seaton, Benjamin Parker and Scott Sowersby replacing Ian Jones due to Injury. The Salvation Army were ready and willing to play, despite being new and never played as a team. In fact this was seeing the Past as this was like the old LH Team, New and unprepared. Yet the Stuck too it and showed there skill and gave a great match, despite being 5-0 within 15 min they still showed commitment to carry on and was made stronger when they finally found the net. Most of the LH Team scored at least one goal each.

The match was 20 min each way and it was in the second half the SA had there breakthrough, yet it was still LH domination the Match.

It was a great match and a good try by the Salvation Army.

The Final Score Salvation Army 3 Lighthouse 18

UPDATE - The Salvation Army have declare there revenge. They have asked for another match.

The boys came in full force and this was seen in skill and teamwork, though more practise is needed for the Competition. Though both teams did well with a lot of on Target attempts. Well done to Luke and Arron. All had a goal Each

A great Night for both teams. Now the team need to get ready for the Biggest Challenge. Matches against St Adrews and the Competition. TEAM KITS will arrive in July. Plus Paratice session are being sorted.

LIGHTHOUSE Back with a fresh start and New Team

Lighthouse (3) v Eastwood (6)

In Jan Lighthouse Team finished there last match loosing 7-2 against the P.I.T.T.S. Yet the first match for the All New team in October was set to end the same

Lighthouse had a new team to play against a New Side, yet with more teamwork, commitment and play they put a lot of skill and effort to set the pace. With a competition on the horizon the match was more of a warm up and Eastwood knew it. The team were consited of Aaron Banford, Gareth Latimer, Scott Sowersby, John Wren, Myles and Luke Bennett.

The night was full of excitement and there was plenty of determination and commitment. With the atmosphere set and the team ready, the first half went OK yet Eastwood had the ball in there possession a lot and with this scored 5 goals in the first half, though it could have been more. Lighthouse had a good half yet struggled slightly though plenty of shots from Luke, Myles and others. Eastwood defiantly showing there skill by dominating most of the match yet there were plenty of skill tackles and great saves by Scott.

In the Second Half after a talk with the team and with more team work and changing of tactics a whole new side emerged as the skill and commitment was seen. Time was to tell as the skill and team work came together with two goals. The third was an own goal by a mistake from Eastwood.

The team did well despite no practice or discussion before hand. With the commitment and team work they showed the leaders feel they have a good chance against the PITTS, with this we will see what will come. The Next match is the day before the competition, and support from club members, leaders and the church will be behind them.

Well done all

St Andrews Pits 7 v Nott’s Road LH – 2

St Andrews were playing home as they invited us to a one to one match. This time it was a fun friendly match and 14 members with 5 spectators attended. The original team of 6 attended (Mark Jefferies, Mark Gregory, Andrew Wilkinson, Micheal Sowersby Paul Milner and 2 new starters – Mat Whitfield, Adrian Draper. Yet we also had another 5 from the younger (age 11) members that had just started Kyle place and Oliva with 3 others who joined there team.

The night was full of excitement and with so many, the Lighthouse group had to be split into two teams. The older team of six went on the first half, there was plenty of skill and determination but were still lacking a bit of team work and supporting as well as marking up. The Pits (St Andrews) was defiantly showing there skill by dominating most of the match yet there were plenty of skill tackles and great saves by M. Jeferries.

A. Draper showed some skill when he was substituted for M. Sowersby but it wasn’t enough by Half time it was 5-0 to St Andrews

In the Second Half a whole change was made (with M. Gregory and Jefferies in Goal) the younger ones got their chance. There was skill and commitment seen and with Daniel it was certainly on as he showed his skill and determination by following the ball and tackles, the others also showed skill despite Pitts being bigger. Time was to tell as the skill and team work came together and two goals followed.

The next match with St Andrews will be in March or May but first a Match with Stapleford Youth Club was to be tackled.
