Young Peoples Day
Celebrating The Young People of the Church.
What is Young Peoples Day - The annual event which has been done for many years is a day where we celebrate the journey of the young people that come to the church, weather they attend Sunday groups, church, or any of the other groups that we do. Much is done in ways that we can say thankyou, also to give a day where we let them show us what theve done through the year. Its also a goo way for the church and community to get to know they young people more and what they do/done.
Previously - In the past
the celebration has taken many forms, from walks aroun
d
the area (Walk of Witness), this is using the band, brownies, guides and
youth groups, walking the streets singing and ending the day with
various activities or service. Also on smaller scale (well almost
smaller) there have been a social night with Beatle Drive or other Games
and challenging nights. Plus not to mention the popular Youth Service
where the young people took hold of the evening service and did all the
organising, script, prayers, drama and songs (we did have a youth band
for a while).
YPD 2000.
Young Peoples Day Now - On a small scale the young peoples day is not what it used to be with a drop in the number of young people in the church, but still it continued and we still manage to do excellent celebrations from Soul cafe to Games nights, YPD in last 3 years merged with the annual Church Picnic to bring a more better scope, with the young people providing the evening service in Shipley park, along with Games, picnic and socialis. Despite the low numbers each group does there bit.
