When Salvation Army faced the Challenge - 1st time

bbpic.gif (3246 bytes)

Lighthouse (24) v Salvation Army (6)

It was the first match of the year and the Team was to face there younger opponents once again for a friendly 5-a-side match. Salvation Army arrived early and ready, yet knowing that a tough match was ahead. Yet there was a different atmosphere, a more challenging one.

The Lighthouse Team consisted of the normal Line up with Ian Jones in Goal, Myles Bennett, Scott Sowersby, and Micheal Powers, with new entries of Liam Brunell, Luke Parker and Ben Beardsly. The team was ready and have been training since last November but was there first match in 4 months.

The match was uneven as the LH Team were bigger and older, yet there was determination and commitment from all Salvation Army players as they battled it out with more skill and play. The Team had defiantly improved a lot from last time we met despite little practise, this was seen as the players got involved more with plenty of Goal attempts and a Goal in each Half.

Lighthouse Team seemed to be on a roll as Liam powered in 4 Goals in the first 7 Min with LH being up By 10-1 By Half time. Most goals coming from Liam and Myles. Yet the Second Half started with out Liam and Myles (substituted for Powers and Ben), yet more goals Came from Ben, Scott and Luke P.

Man of the Match was Liam Brunell. With excellent skill.

There was also support from a Few LH Fans

Lighthouse Team will be getting ready for the Showdown as they Finally Meet NUTHALL in a Pre tournament Match,

also St Andrews will Return to the Field after a 6 Month Break – the Quest Continues.

Well done all
