And so the journey had taken the Xtream yet from it came a few
major changes, yet only in its first year, it was time to breath.
Two months had passed, with a summer break in middle, leaders came
together again and with a whole fresh New Look, the birth of one, a
new look for the Millenium. With again a new format in place and
some changes it was time again for Leaders and the Youth of Ilkeston

Just Breath It
SATURDAY 25TH
SEPTEMBER 1999 - Just Breath IT -
The name was enough to its young, Oxygen came with a
high expectations, new venue and even made the News. Around 50
youngsters between 8-18 turned up at the Christian Centre for another
night of fun, drama and worship. After a number of meetings with the
young people a number of changes were made to the now old Xtreme, such
as the name, style and what's working and not working, publicity etc.
7:00pm and everyone was in, the atmosphere was
already live with chart music, lights and excitement, the lights
dimmed and the disco lights sprung to live, the band followed soon
after. At first members were placed into a line according to house
number, a variety of games were then played to break the ice and mix
in with others (including the can-can). Afterwards it was FREE FOOD
TIME, Jam Doughnuts and pizza, plus drinks.
The band was then playing by 7:45 with Christian
music, with everyone up and dancing, this lasted about 15 min, the
rest of the evening consisted of a funny drama about Billy Fool, done
by a group from Cotmanhay. There was also a talk/drama by a guest
speaker, which got some people involved, it was good with some laughs
and a message. There was also the chance for people to open there
minds, eyes and explore their belief, plus to open to faith, also
young people had the chance to get into groups or with leaders and
pray or say where they are or feel. There was also worship and video.
The night was fun and proberly best of the last 3,
though equalling the first. With Flashing lights, FREE FOOD, Drama,
talks and a chance to explore your inner self and beliefs, loud music
and band, it was a brilliant night.
With this which is what was to be the Best so far, was also seen as
a turning point, yet this was also to be a Last Breath

Just Breath It
It was 3 months since the last Event and things
where beginning to appear, although nearly a Year old signs where
showing of something is happening for better or worse, yet it was the millennium
and the Christian Centre was the host for around 50 youngsters between
5-18 turned up at the Christian Centre for another night of fun, drama
and worship. After the last one, high expectations where expected,
although no disappointments there where a few things that need to
change or be looked at.
The atmosphere was already live with chart music,
lights and excitement, the lights dimmed and the disco lights sprung
to live, the band followed soon after. A variety of games were then
played to break the ice and mix in with others then refreshments.
The main aim of the night was Hopes for 2000 - see
Hopes and Dreams.
With Prayer, more live music and workshops the night
had a social and fun feeling. .
