And so the journey had taken the high road, yet now Oxygen
was in its own spotlight, the Year 2000 was Oxygen Year, yet
again things where stirring and a bumby road was ahead, yet the
nights where great. Yet Oxygen moved from the Cristian Centre
and a few comments and found a new home, and with the 3 nights
it ran in 2000 remaind their till it Gasped its Last
Breath
Oct 15th 2000 OXYGEN
(the Last Breath) was again like the
previous 3 oxygen Nights in 2000, was held at the Nottingham Road Methodist Church by the IACC and Lighthouse Members were invited. There was
Tuckshop, a non-alcoholic Cocktail Bar, Music, Lights, Computer Games, Drama, Dance, Talk by Guest Speaker, Graffiti Board and Free Food. A well organised and fun Night for all and when well. Though Different and New to some members the feedback was
good and a BIG Hit, but this was its Last Breath for –

OXYGEN 2000-03
XTREME
XTREME was born in
1999 with a two things in mind, it started well with high
attendance and quite a few succesful and not so good nights. Its
main content was a Christian youth alternative worship event. From
a High dose of Guest speakers, Christian music, Live band, drama
and refreshments it seemend on a roll but something was missing.
Despite its Success and a number of nights it Died out and a new
Name was born and so was a New look - Feb 1999 - Sept 1999
A Year LATER OXYGEN Was Born taking over when Xtreme died, but a
dicision was made that the event was needing more choice and was not actually fullfilling its Mission Statement - It was decided that a New Name, Venue and a revamp was needed. The following
included more on Drama, Guest speaking, live bands, workshop and
refreshments. The age was also an issue with young kids comming so
a chang was made and suitable for 11+ although teenagers are the main supporters.
The event was the result of the youth workers and members meeting together, to work together to provide
a Youth Group that is the first and foremost for young people. The young people have the main input on what takes place combined with support from the youth workers. It is also FREE and runs from 7:00-9:00 on Sundays it was also decided on a number of other events to fill the gaps
in between main events. One was a Quiz Night and over 90 attended
(Highest Yet) but was followed by unsusseful or not so good ones.
