AQUA BOX
and SHOE
BOXES
Two new projects for us to be involved with which can improve
peoples lives in desperate situations in other parts of the world.
AQUA BOX is a project which involves
supplying plastic water containers to disaster areas where a tragedy has
struck, depriving people of the basic essentials to live. These containers
are filled with a range of emergency supplies, clothes, medical etc. They
are then shipped out in bulk to areas that they are needed. When the supplies
are removed, the container uses special chemicals to, when dirty
water is poured in, convert it to clean drinking water. They provide many
Gallons and can keep a family or community with clean water for many days.
We have committed to buying a box and filling it with supplies. There will
be more detail about how you can help shortly.
SHOEBOXES. This was a successful venture that we got
involved with last year. This gives us the opportunity to fill a shoebox
with a range of items to provide a Christmas present to people who
otherwise would receive noting. All ages can be involved and Helen
Shirtcliffe is co-ordinating this. She has a list of what you can put in
your box. If you can’t fill a whole box then you can still provide item
toward one. This can make all the difference to a person who has very
little to smile about in their difficult life. Please help.
Aqua box A project to supply a plastic water container, filled with
emergency supplies, which when needed can be sent to any disaster area.
The AQUA BOX was launched as a project at the Christingle service. Many
groups are contributing to filling the box, the choir, uniformed groups,
the Church and many others. Jim Swinburn, who is organising it tells me we
may need to get another AQUA BOX as so much is being offered.
